Kim Mackrell worked in Bermuda and Las Palmas before joining the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra for six years. Since leaving the BBC she has worked with the Kosh Dance/Theatre Co as solo cellist and plays regularly with the LSO and other major London orchestras. A member of the Pisces String Quartet and the Wren Piano Trio she also gives recitals as part of a piano/cello duo. She has taught for many years, the focus of which more recently has been adult learning and chamber group tutoring. 'Chamber Cellos', residential courses for adult amateur cellists, was created in 2007 with four courses running each year. In Nov 2010 Chamber Cellos gave the UK premiere performance of Arvo Part's Missa Brevis for 12 celli.
