Martin Pyne is a vibraphonist, percussionist , and composer, working mainly in the areas of jazz and improvised music, and contemporary dance, though he also has extensive experience in contemporary classical music. He leads his own highly unusual trio Busnoys, in which he plays vibes and electronics, along with bassist Jim Barr and drummer Trevor Davies. His solo work has featured collaborations with Stan Sulzmann and Dai Pritchard among others.
Along with pianist and broadcaster Sarah Walker he runs a small record label, Tall Guy Records, which releases albums of both improvised and composed music. They have recently begun hosting a series of eclectic club nights in their home town of Egham in Surrey. In addition Martin's music for dance has been heard at the Lyllian Bayliss Theatre, The Place,and the Royal Opera House. He also has an ongoing collaboration with the highly esteemed slilent film pianist Stephen Horne.
