Required Facilities: |
Piano – preferably a grand piano, but a good upright is sufficient, tuned to A440 (Harmonie Band can provide an electric piano at extra cost if necessary).
Stage - space to accommodate 6 players (or 7 for ‘Le sang d’un poete’) including piano and percussion with vibraphone.
Screen - if the screen is low the band must be located to the left or right of it. If the screen can accommodate a player standing up in front of it (without appearing in the film) the band can be located centrally. The band cannot be divided into two trios either side of the screen.
Stands - 8 lighted music stands. (Harmonie Band can provide these at extra cost if unavailable at the venue).
Chairs - 6 chairs without arm pieces.
Tables - 2 tables for setting equipment.
Electrical Supply - At least one 13A power outlet close to the performing area. |

Projection: |
35mm projection system required. Please note some titles require silent film speeds of 18 fps, but most are 24fps. Longer films require two projectors or the ability to spool a long film onto a large plate for a single projector. Video or DVD projection is also possible.
The venue must provide a projectionist. If projection equipment is not available, Harmonie Band can arrange to provide a projectionist with equipment on behalf of the venue.
Promoters should make their own arrangements with the provider of the film and performing rights. Terms vary depending on the supplier. An average contract from the BFI (British Film Institute) asks for 25% of the box office against a minimum guarantee of £100. For video projection performing rights have to be paid for separately. |

Rehearsal - for ‘one off’ performances outside of a tour the venue is required from 12 noon onwards. |
